Waiter / Server

Eathai serves traditional Thai food in Bahrain. Our kitchens are run by Thai chefs, our recipes are not adapted, and every venue is fully halal. We are looking for a Waiter / Server for our Seef restaurant.

The job

You are the link between the guest and the kitchen. You take the order, you get it right, you bring it out hot, and you make people want to come back. The food is Thai and most guests will ask you about it — so you learn the menu properly, not approximately.

What you will do

• Set your section before service and clear it down after

• Greet and seat guests, and take the order accurately onto the POS

• Know the menu — what is in a dish, how hot it is, what it contains, and what to suggest

• Check every dish before it reaches the table, and never carry out something you would not eat yourself

• Handle allergy and dietary questions carefully, and ask the kitchen rather than guessing

• Keep your section clean, stocked and tidy through service

• Handle a complaint calmly, and call the manager on duty before it grows

• Hand your section over properly at the end of the shift

What we are looking for

• One year or more serving in a restaurant, café or hotel

• Good English, clear and polite with guests. Arabic is a plus

• Able to carry a full section through a busy service

• Accurate on the POS, and honest with cash and card handling

• Presentable, punctual, and calm when the restaurant is full

• A Bahrain food handler card, or able to obtain one

• Thai or Asian restaurant experience is an advantage

• Already in Bahrain on a transferable visa is a plus, but not required

• 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, with one full day off

• Salary is set by the Eathai grade for this post and is discussed at interview
