Cashier

Eathai serves traditional Thai food in Bahrain. Our kitchens are run by Thai chefs, our recipes are not adapted, and every venue is fully halal. We are looking for a Cashier for our Time Out restaurant.

The job

You take the money and you close the day. Every order rung correctly, every payment taken correctly, and a till that balances at the end of the shift without needing an explanation. You are also the first and the last person many guests speak to, so how you deal with them matters as much as the numbers.

What you will do

• Ring every order accurately on the POS

• Take cash and card payments, give correct change, and issue the receipt every time

• Count your float at the start of the shift and balance the till at the end

• Report any shortage or surplus immediately — never cover it and never make it up from your own pocket

• Handle collection, delivery and aggregator orders correctly

• Greet guests, answer the telephone, and take orders politely and accurately

• Keep the counter and the front of house clean and presentable

• Follow the cash handling, void and refund rules exactly, with no exception for anybody

What we are looking for

• One year or more on a till in a restaurant, café or retail

• Accurate with numbers and calm at speed

• Completely honest with cash — that is the whole job

• Good English, clear and polite with guests. Arabic is a plus

• Comfortable on a POS system and able to learn ours quickly

• Presentable and punctual

• A Bahrain food handler card, or able to obtain one

• Already in Bahrain on a transferable visa is a plus, but not required

• 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, with one full day off

• Salary is set by the Eathai grade for this post and is discussed at interview
